Uruguay Wingshooting

Since 2001, Los Gauchos Outfitters has distinguished itself as one of the best Argentina outfitters for bird hunting and fishing.  In 2003, Los Gauchos began operating in Uruguay, and has since taken the wingshooting community there by storm— our operations there are now larger than any of the other Bird Hunting Outfitters in Uruguay. 

2008 was a record breaking year for Los Gauchos in Uruguay.  We hosted over 440 clients in Uruguay alone, with over half of those being Uruguay duck hunting clients.  The Uruguay waterfowl hunting is nothing short of outstanding, and it appears that it will be the driving force of our future operations in Uruguay—a small country with BIG wingshooting potential.

What you see here is what you will get when you book your trip to Los Gauchos.  We are not booking agents collecting a commission, we are the Owners and Operators of these Hunting Lodges in Uruguay, and what you see here is exactly what you will experiences when you become our honored guests.

We will assist you in the planning of your wing shooting trip from your front door to ours, and then back home.  We will handle all of the flight and ground transportation arrangements for your trip, whether you are Bird Hunting Uruguay, or choose an Argentina dove hunting fly fishing combination. 

Los Gauchos will provide you with a complete list of the equipment that you will need to bring with you in order to make your Argentina dove hunting, Perdiz hunting, or waterfowl hunting trips to South America a complete success. 

If we could offer you one piece of valuable advice that will assist you no matter whom you book your trip with, it is this:  be kind to yourself and pack lightly. 

All of our destinations offer laundry services, and there is no need to incur extra / overweight baggage fees for pieces of clothing that can easily be cleaned from day to day.

Next, consider whether or not to bring your own shotgun and/or fly tackle, or rent ours.  This decision is personal, and involves many different variables and considerations.  Therefore, we recommend that you discuss your particular desires and considerations with us in advance; we will be more than happy to assist you with some advice in this department.  

Here is a general rule of thumb: Uruguay and Argentina waterfowl hunters typically bring their own guns, and Dove Hunters generally rent.  Why?  The simple answer is that waterfowlers like to use something very familiar to them—making every shot count.  Dove hunters on the other hand, usually do not want to get the barrels of their own guns extremely hot, and incur the other associated wear and tear that comes with shooting 2,000-plus rounds per day on an Argentina hunting trip.   As we mentioned previously, give us a call and let’s discuss it.
